The Samm breed has been in Australia for over ten years and has proven beyond doubt that it has a place in Australia’s sheep flock as a
maternal breed.
- Excellent prime lambs for the sucker or lean, heavyweight markets.
- Magnificent weight gains especially in feedlots.
- Easy care, plain bodies, no mulesing required.
- Good fertility and mothering ability.
- A wool of 20 – 22 micron, ewes produce an average of 4.5kg wool.
- Strong constitution, exceptional in dry conditions.
- Non-selective grazers, able to utilise low quality roughage.
A dual purpose breed ideal as both a purebred or for crossbreeding to produce a prime lamb carcase while still maintaining wool quality.
